Upgrades and Optimization! 

To ensure the Physical Genius web site is as attractive and functional as possible, it has been constructed to conform to current industry standards. This site performs best when viewed with Microsoft Explorer 3.0 or Netscape Navigator 2.0 or higher and a screen size resolution of 800 x 600 pixels with 256 colors.

While it's not necessary to change your screen size resolution to view our site, you will get optimum performance if you do. Click on the appropriate link below for a clear and accurate set of instructions on how to change your display settings.

If you need to upgrade your browser, click on either the Explorer link or the Netscape link to download and install the updated browser of your choice. Either of the two browsers work equally well.

Windows 95 / Windows NT

1.  Click Start, select Settings and choose Control Panel.
2.  Double click on the Display icon and choose the Settings tab.
3.  In the Color palette dialog box select 256 Color from the scroll list.
4.  In the Desktop Area dialog box slide the control bar to a position that selects "800 x 600 pixels" with your mouse.
5.  Click on the Apply button to make the changes take effect immediately.

If your graphics card supports 800 x 600 x 256 colors, but you don't have
either of those options and you have already installed the correct display
device driver from the CD or diskette provided by the manufacturer,
follow steps 6 through 10 to reconfigure your system to use the correct
display type.

6.  Click on the Change Display Type... button.
7.  Click the Change... button in the Adapter Type dialog box.
8.  Click the Show all devices radio button to display a complete list of manufacturers and models.
9.  Select the correct manufacturer and model for your display card.
10. Click the OK button, then click the Close button and then click the Apply button to make the changes take effect immediately.

If the manufacturer or model doesn't appear in your list you must
install the correct display device driver from the CD or diskette provided
by the manufacturer. To do this, follow steps 11 through 12 and then repeat
steps 1 through 5.

11. Click on the Have Disk... button, insert the CD or diskette in the appropriate drive and set the drive letter accordingly.
12. Press the ENTER key or click the OK button to start the installation process.

Screen Size Resolution
Windows 3.1


1. Open Program Manger
2. Open the program group called Main
3. Double click on the Windows Setup icon

If you have difficulty finding the Windows Setup icon,
you can access the setup screen by first opening Program Manager,
then click File/Run, type "setup" and press the
ENTER key or click the OK button.

4. Click Options/Change System Settings...
5. Click on the first line titled "Display:" and scroll through the list of available display types until you find your correct display type that supports 800 x 600 x 256 colors.

If your graphics card supports 800 x 600 x 256 colors but you don't
have that option in the list, you must install the correct display device driver from
the CD or diskette provided by the manufacturer. To do this, follow steps 6
through 8 and then repeat steps 1 through 5.

6. Scroll to the bottom of the list of available display types and select Other display (Requires disk from OEM...)
7. Insert the CD or diskette in the appropriate drive and set the drive letter accordingly.
8. Press the ENTER key or click the OK button to start the installation process.

Macintosh

1. Double-click the Hard Disk icon.
2. In the Hard Disk window, double-click the System Folder.
3. In the System Folder, double-click the Control Panels Folder.
4. In the Control Panels Folder, double-click the Monitors file:

a. Select 256
b. Go to Options

a. Choose Mac Standard Gamma.
b. Choose 832x624, 75Hz, and click the OK button.

5. Close windows, until you return to the Hard Disk window.
